Everything you need

Built for people who run many accounts.

No more logging out, re-entering passwords, or clearing cookies. Six features do the heavy lifting.

One-click switching

It swaps X's login session (the auth_token cookie), mints a fresh CSRF token, and reloads x.com logged in as the account you picked. Instant — no logging out.

Bulk import, any format

Paste one account per line — just the 40-char token or a full account line. It extracts the token from each line and labels it. Add hundreds at once; duplicates are skipped.

Real profile pics & names

The popup auto-loads every saved account's avatar, display name and @username as a clean list — looked up from your current session, with no switching needed.

Private & local-only

Everything is stored only in your browser (chrome.storage.local). No servers, no accounts, no analytics, no tracking. It only ever talks to x.com / twitter.com.

Search, rename & export

Live search, rename or label any account, copy a token, delete, and export everything as clean label:token lines whenever you want a backup.

Chrome · Opera · Edge

A standard Manifest V3 extension. Works on any Chromium browser via Developer mode → Load unpacked. No store account required.

Set up in under a minute

How to use it — five simple steps.

Install once, paste your tokens, and you're switching. Here's the whole thing.

  1. 1

    Download & unzip

Hit download — you'll get X-Profile-Switcher.zip. Unzip it anywhere you'll remember.

  2. 2

    Open your extensions page

Go to chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode (top-right toggle). Opera & Edge work the same way.

  3. 3

    Load unpacked

Click Load unpacked and pick the unzipped x-profile-switcher folder.

  4. 4

Pin it & add your accounts

Pin the blue bird icon, click it, hit the + button, and paste your auth_tokens or full account lines.

  5. 5

    Click to switch — done

Click any account and the tab reloads logged in as that account. That's it.

Paste it however you have it

Any format. One token per line.

Got bare tokens? A messy supplier dump with passwords, mail and 2FA all jammed together? Paste it in. Profile Switcher finds the 40-character auth_token on every line and uses the first field as the label.

  • Bare 40-char tokens, or full user:pass:mail|mailpass|refresh|clientid:AUTHTOKEN:2fa lines.
  • Add hundreds in one paste — duplicates are skipped automatically.
  • Rename later, or export everything back out as label:token.

Good to know

Frequently asked

What's an auth_token? +
It's the cookie that is your X login session — a 40-character value X stores in your browser when you sign in. Profile Switcher keeps a labelled list of them and swaps the active one when you click an account, which is why switching is instant and needs no password.
Is it safe? +
The code is open and simple. Your tokens are stored locally in your own browser and never sent anywhere — the extension only ever talks to x.com / twitter.com to set the session cookie. No servers, no analytics, no background network. Treat your auth_tokens like passwords — anyone with them can access the account — so only paste your own and keep your device secure.
Where are my accounts stored? +
Locally, in your browser's chrome.storage.local — nowhere else. There's no account to create and no cloud sync. Want a backup? Use Export to copy them all out as label:token lines.
Does it work on Edge / Opera? +
Yes — it's a standard Manifest V3 extension, so any Chromium browser works. Open the browser's extensions page (edge://extensions or opera://extensions), enable Developer mode, and choose Load unpacked.
